A welded tube is produced by cutting sheet aluminium into strips, the strips are then formed to round tubes and the edges welded together.
The external seam of the weld is ground down, even the internal seam of the weld is sometimes ground down too. Using this method, it is possible to produce a tube from thin material with a fine surface and precise tolerances of both material thickness and diameter. Welded tubes are only produced in larger quantities with the added advantage of low cost per metre.
We are able to supply welded tubes with diameters from 8-76 mm and a material thickness of 0.6-3 mm. The tubes can be supplied either untreated or with an anodised surface finish. |
