A seamless tube is produced through indirect extrusion, which means that the material is free from any arched zones.
We can supply seamless tubes from our extrusion plants in a large number of dimensions and alloys. Please contact us for technical information. When the demands for tolerances are extremely precise, we can also supply drawn seamless tube.
During conventional extrusion, the aluminium is forced through a die, which first splits the material and then smelts it together with no visible arched zones in the extruded material.
The production of seamless tubes is effected by forcing the aluminium between a die and a mandrel. This ensures that there are no zones, visible or otherwise, which gives a more durable tube for high pressures or higher load bearing purposes. |
